GOALS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The goal of the Central Huron Fire Area is to provide fire protection services through a range of programs designated to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants from the adverse effects of fires, exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature, first to the municipality, second to those municipalities requiring assistance through authorized emergency fire service plans and agreements and third to those municipalities requiring assistance through authorized mutual fire aid plan and program activities.
Fire protection includes fire suppression, fire prevention, fire safety education, communication, training of persons involved in the provisions of fire protection, rescue and emergency services and the delivery of those services.
Ensure in the event of a major incident in the municipality, assistance to cope with the situation is available from outside departments and agencies,
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all federal, provincial and municipal departments, utilities and agencies, related to the protection of life and property,
Interact with other departments of the corporation respecting the aspects of fire on any given program,
Ensure these objectives are not in conflict with any other department of the corporation.
Fire protection services provided by the Central Huron Fire Area will include, but not be limited to the following non-fire emergencies:
- Rescue from motor vehicle accidents and industrial accidents.
- Emergencies involving hazardous materials to an awareness level.
- Search and Rescue.
- Any other emergencies deemed necessary by the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief or designated Officer.
FIRE DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
The primary mission of the Central Huron Fire Area is to provide a range of programs to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Municipality of Central Huron and other municipalities it serves from the effects of fires or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.
