Economic Development: Façade Grant Program | Donation Fund | Central Huron Clothing

The Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee of Council meet monthly to consider funding for special projects and programs that will promote economic development in our Municipality.

The Committee also acts as Council’s service window for perspective investors in our community as well as liaison with special interest groups and local business partners.

In 2002 the Committee and Council established the Central Huron Façade Grant Program to assist property owners in the Business Improvement Area of Ward 3 by reducing the considerable cost of façade improvement. The goal of the program is to enhance the appearance of the downtown core and in so doing refresh the sense of pride within our community. As a result it is expected that the interest for investment will also improve. This program was expanded in 2003 to include assistance for business signage projects throughout our Municipality.

The Central Huron Donation Fund was also established in 2002. This program was started to assist and promote community-based non-profit organizations. Funding is also available for national and international non-profit organizations whose programs demonstrate a direct benefit for the residents of our municipality.
